Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in San Francisco, California, US . This role is integral to the company's mission of pushing the boundaries of manufacturing excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process optimization, automation, and the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies. You will be instrumental in transforming production lines, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and optimize advanced manufacturing processes and systems. Lead projects related to automation, robotics, and the integration of IoT devices on the production floor. Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality control. Design and specify manufacturing equipment and tooling. Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new products. Troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes. Train production staff on new technologies and procedures. Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective actions. Stay current with emerging manufacturing technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on advanced manufacturing techniques. Proven experience with automation, robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA), and PLC programming. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam). Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong project management and communication skills. Experience in a high-volume production environment is essential. Knowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing) and its applications in production is a significant advantage. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
