Job Description

Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is looking for a highly skilled Advanced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in automation. This hybrid role requires a candidate who can contribute significantly from both on-site and remote capacities. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing automated manufacturing processes and systems. This includes robotic systems, PLCs, SCADA, and other industrial control technologies. Your work will directly impact production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of new automated production lines and equipment. Integrate robotic systems, sensors, and vision systems into manufacturing processes. Develop and maintain PLC and HMI software for automated machinery. Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation-related issues on the production floor. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, quality) to define automation requirements and implement solutions. Conduct feasibility studies and recommend new automation technologies. Manage automation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor selection. Ensure automation systems meet safety standards and regulatory compliance. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for automated equipment. Provide training and technical support to maintenance and operations personnel.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering with a strong focus on automation. Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA development. Experience with robotic programming and integration (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA, ABB). Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing principles. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with CAD software for automation layout and design is a plus.
