Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in robotics and automation to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to leverage your expertise from anywhere in the United States. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing automated manufacturing processes that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within production facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial automation, robotics programming, and manufacturing systems integration. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, develop solutions, and ensure successful deployment and ongoing support of automated systems.

Key Responsibilities: Design and specify robotic work cells and automated manufacturing systems. Develop and implement PLC and robot control logic for various automation tasks. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to robotic systems and automation equipment. Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases for new automation projects. Collaborate with equipment vendors and integration partners to ensure successful project execution. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, operating procedures, and training materials. Implement and refine lean manufacturing principles within automated processes. Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. Stay current with advancements in robotics, automation technologies, and manufacturing trends. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for automated systems. Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance teams. Manage automation project timelines and budgets effectively. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering, with a focus on robotics and automation. Proven experience with programming industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens). Strong understanding of automation principles, control systems, and manufacturing processes. Experience with machine vision systems, HMI development, and industrial networking. Proficiency in CAD software for automation design. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Experience with simulation software for automation is a plus.
