Shape the future of high-pressure aerospace lines
Join our Design Engineering Team as the resident expert in mechanical design and stress analysis for high-pressure, high-temperature pneumatic and fluid lines used across domestic and foreign commercial aviation, military platforms, and space applications. You will operate independently the majority of the time (approximately 75%+), while collaborating closely with a cross-functional group to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.
A day in the life
You start by reviewing FEA results in HyperWorks, Femap/NASTRAN, or ANSYS Mechanical—moving from geometry creation and meshing to interpreting nonlinear, fatigue, and structural dynamics responses. You pivot to sketching a new concept (hand or CAD) for a complex metallic assembly, handing it off to drafting with clear intent around design-to-spec, manufacturability, inspectability, and cost. Before lunch, you refine a topology-optimized bracket intended for metallic additive manufacturing, ensuring GD&T (ASME Y14.5:2018 and/or 2009) is applied correctly. In the afternoon, you write an analysis report, consult with Project Engineers and Quality on an MRB disposition, and build a quick VBA or Python routine to automate a repetitive calculation through a software API. You wrap by running an internal flow calculation and an external insulation check with in-house tools.
