Job Scope:
We are hiring a Quality Engineer with strong First Article Inspection (FAI) and inspection planning experience for a leading aerospace MRO facility. You will play a key role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in inspection processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed inspection plans based on engineering drawings, customer requirements, and aerospace standards.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to define inspection criteria for new parts and systems.
- Select appropriate inspection tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, optical, gaging, etc.).
- Establish acceptance criteria and tolerances according to material specifications and industry benchmarks.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive inspection reports and documentation.
- Prepare inspection records to support traceability, including FAI, in-process, and final inspections.
- Create CMM or gear programming for part inspections.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, AS9110, AS9120, NADCAP, FAA, and customer-specific standards.
- Support both internal and external audits related to inspection and quality systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis using tools like 8D, FMEA, and Fishbone diagrams.
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance inspection accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging inspection technologies.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality standards.
- Proficient in using CMM, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools.
- Hands-on experience with AS9100 and FAI requirements.
- Competent in Microsoft Office; basic CAD knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with NDT and CMM programming will be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Willing to support rotating shifts when required.
