AI Automation Engineer (AWS)
Location: NYC (Hybrid)
Comp: $120K-$150K base + benefits

About the Role
This is a hands-on role focused on using AI + automation to improve internal business processes.
The company is a large, publicly traded organization going through a major push around automation, data, and AI, with a lot of opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact.
There are still plenty of workflows happening through Excel, email, and manual processes, and the goal here is to replace those with scalable automation and internal tools.
What You'll Be Doing
- Identify manual processes and replace them with automation
- Build internal tools and workflows using AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, APIs)
- Connect systems through APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines
- Build and support AI-driven workflows (LLMs, agents, Copilot, etc.)
- Work directly with business teams to turn ideas into working solutions
- Ship quickly - most solutions are built in days or weeks, not months
- Continuously look for ways to save time and improve efficiency
What They're Looking For
- Experience building internal tools or automation workflows
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, etc.)
- Recent experience using AI tools in development (LLMs, agents, Copilot, etc.)
- Experience working with APIs and system integrations
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, less structured environment
- Able to work directly with non-technical teams and figure things out
Nice to Have
- Experience building AI agents or advanced LLM workflows
- Background with RPA tools
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate)
- SQL or data pipeline experience
- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Teams
