AI Engineer – Buyside

🚨 New search: AI Engineer – a rare opportunity to join a rapidly expanding AI team within a leading global investment firm in London.

Requirements: LLMs, MCPs, Gen AI, Agentic AI, RAG

Notice: Less than 2 months

You’ll join a small, high-calibre team investing heavily in AI and data, with engineers playing a key role in designing and building LLM-powered tools, copilots, AI agents and RAG-based workflows used directly by investment professionals.

You'll work closely with Portfolio Managers and investment teams in a front-office environment, developing AI tools that support the investment process while helping shape how AI is applied across the firm as the capability continues to scale.

They’re looking for AI Engineers with strong software engineering foundations (roughly 2–6 years’ experience) who have already been building with modern AI tools.

Relevant experience may include

• Python and production AI applications
• Building LLM tools, AI agents or RAG pipelines
• Frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar
• Integrating LLM APIs, vector stores and internal services

Education

• Master’s or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science or a related field

Additional qualities

• Ability to operate effectively in a professional corporate environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with PM's and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable translating complex technical concepts into practical applications for investment teams
