AI Engineer/ Machine Learning Lead

We’re seeking a Machine Learning Lead / AI Engineer who combines backend engineering expertise with advanced machine learning skills to drive innovation at one of Hong Kong’s leading and highly regarded banks.

Key Responsibilities

Create Impact: Build ML-powered systems that transform banking operations at scale.

Architect & Deploy: Design and deliver secure, high-performance solutions on GCP, with exposure to AWS, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud as a plus.

Bridge the Gap: Translate complex business needs into robust technical designs through close collaboration with stakeholders.

Lead & Inspire: Mentor an agile team, set engineering standards, and champion best practices in ML and backend development.

Requirements

6–8 years of experience

in Machine Learning and

backend software engineering

, with strong hands-on skills in Python, APIs, and modern backend frameworks

Language Model Expertise (Preferred)

: Experience building, fine-tuning, or deploying LLMs for production use. Familiarity with frameworks and tools such as

Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, LangGraph, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenAI APIs

Proven track record in

cloud deployment on GCP

, with large-scale financial project experience (highly preferred).

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field.

Demonstrated leadership in agile environments, with exceptional communication skills to influence and align stakeholders.

Fluent in Cantonese & English for seamless collaboration across teams and regions.
