Role: AI Engineer (RAG & LLM Systems)
Title: AVP/VP
Location: New York , NY(Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid) – Fulltime
Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required
Required Experience: 5-10+ years
We are hiring an AI Engineer with strong hands-on experience in RAG systems, LLM APIs, and AI agents. This role focuses on building production-ready AI applications, including retrieval systems and intelligent automation workflows.
Required Skills:
- AG / Retrieval Systems - Hands-on experience building RAG pipelines. Familiarity with NotebookLM, RAG tooling, and Python libraries (NotebookLM or similar).
- LLM APIs & Tooling -Experience with Claude / Anthropic APIs, Claude Code, or equivalent LLM tooling. Comfortable building production systems on top of LLM APIs.
- Vector Databases -Exposure to Pinecone, Chroma, or similar. Understanding of embedding-based retrieval architecture and indexing strategies.
- AI Orchestration- Lang Chain or similar frameworks for multi-step AI workflows. Chaining, tool use, and prompt management at scale.
- AI Agents & Automation-Building AI agents or workflow automations beyond simple chat interfaces. Multi-step reasoning, tool integration, autonomous task execution.
- LLM Governance-Awareness of governance - logging, monitoring, cost controls, and responsible AI practices in enterprise settings.
- GitHub Portfolio-Published/maintained repos demonstrating applied AI work. Client explicitly values this - can compensate for lack of graduate education.
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of LLM governance, monitoring, and cost controls
- GitHub portfolio showcasing AI/LLM projects
- Experience: 4-10 years in software engineering with 1-3+ years focused on applied AI / ML engineering
- Type: Practitioners who have shipped AI products, built RAG systems, or deployed agents in production
- Python proficiency is baseline - all referenced tooling is Python-first
- Financial services experience is a plus but not required - this is an AI-native role supporting transformation
- Strong communicators who can work with non-technical business stakeholders
