AI Governance and Risk Manager

We are hiring an AI governance and risk leader responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and controlled use of AI systems across the enterprise. The role focuses on governance, risk management, and operational oversight, serving as a bridge between engineering, risk, compliance, and business teams. It reports to the Divisional Head of Third Party Risk Management & Strategy and helps establish AI governance frameworks, policies, and operating procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in program management, project management, or governance/risk roles
- Strong background in highly regulated industries (financial services preferred)
- Focus on resiliency, operational stability, and risk controls
- Experience working with technical teams (AI engineers, architects, data teams)
- Ability to build SOPs, governance frameworks, and operating models
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in enterprise environments with cross-functional teams
Preferred Experience
- SaaS governance or vendor management experience
- Exposure to AI/ML systems (governance perspective, not technical building)
- Financial services or banking industry experience
- Familiarity with enterprise risk, compliance, or third-party risk frameworks
- Experience at VP, Director, or Senior Program Manager level
Day to Day
- Oversee governance and control of AI systems to ensure compliance, safety, and resiliency
- Monitor AI usage and coordinate with engineering and architecture teams as needed
- Develop and maintain policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks for AI controls
- Lead program/project management efforts for AI risk and governance initiatives
- Serve as liaison between AI teams, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders
- Support vendor and third-party governance for AI/SaaS platforms (preferred focus)
- Provide reporting on AI risk posture, control effectiveness, and operational stability
- Identify control gaps and drive remediation with relevant teams
- Support audit, regulatory, and internal governance reviews
Pay: $60.00 - $120.00 per hour
