14503 – AI/Machine Learning Engineer (onsite) – Austin, TX
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Remote work allowed per the client’s policy, but candidate must be in the office at least four days a week (or as otherwise approved by the client).
Only candidates able to relocate as required should apply to avoid removal from future consideration.
Required:
- Availability to work 4 days at the Client’s site in Austin, TX (required);
- Experience with support of MicroStation / ProjectWise / OpenRoads Designer (5+ years);
- Experience in enterprise software implementation and deployment (5+ years);
- Experience with software package creation and deployment (5+ years);
- Experience with SME for CADD tools and provides extensive support for civil engineering software (8+ years);
- Experience in effective customer-centric support (5+ years);
- Experience providing guidance to end users based on analysis of hardware, software and technologies associated with civil engineering workflows (5+ years);
Preferred:
- Experience with python production as a primary language 1-3+ ML;
- Experience in AI/ML Production - Built and deployed 1-3+ ML models serving real users, not just experiments;
- Cloud Platforms - Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI for deploying and managing ML workloads. We leverage AI/ML tools across all major cloud providers (Azure AI, AWS SageMaker/Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, OCI AI Services);
- DevOps - Docker and Kubernetes experience;
- Databases - SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL/vector databases;
- Scripting - Experience in both Bash and PowerShell for automation;
- Command Line Interface (CLI) – 1-3+ years production experience working in CLI terminal;
- CI/CD Experience: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar automation pipelines;
- Computer Vision: Production CV experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, object detection, segmentation, or real-time inference;
- Go or Rust experience for performance-critical components;
- Experience in Feature stores (Feast, Tecton) or advanced feature engineering;
- Model optimization experience: quantization, pruning, knowledge distillation;
- Experience in Edge deployment or resource-constrained model deployment;
- Experiment frameworks for A/B testing ML models;
- Experience with contributions to open-source ML projects;
- Real-time streaming data processing experience (Kafka, Kinesis).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provided expert-level support for MicroStation, ProjectWise, and OpenRoads Designer, including troubleshooting, configuration, workflow optimization, and end‑user guidance across civil engineering design teams.
- Led enterprise-wide software implementation and deployment initiatives, ensuring successful rollout, version control, governance, and system stability across multiple environments.
- Developed, packaged, and deployed complex software distributions, including automated installers, configuration bundles, and updates for CADD and civil engineering applications.
- Served as SME for CADD tools, delivering advanced technical support, training, standards enforcement, and workflow consulting for civil engineering design teams using Bentley and related platforms.
- Delivered high-quality customer‑centric support, resolving technical issues, providing proactive guidance, and ensuring a positive user experience while supporting large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Analyzed hardware, software, and workflow dependencies for civil engineering applications, offering expert recommendations that improved performance, compatibility, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborated effectively across teams, applying strong communication, logic, and problem‑solving skills to make decisions that supported engineering business goals and technical objectives.
