About the role

This role involves transforming unstructured enterprise content into AI-friendly formats, ensuring that internal AI assistants and search systems can accurately retrieve and utilize this information, making it ideal for someone with a strong background in AI and content engineering.

Original posting from Genesis10

Genesis10 is currently seeking an AI Content Optimization Engineer for a 9+ month contract position with a Major Financial Services Company located in Milwaukee, WI. Hybrid is preferred, but can work remotely.

Pay range: $56.00 - $66.00 per Hour

We are seeking an AI Content Engineer to support a strategic initiative focused on preparing enterprise HR (People) content for AI-powered experiences.

This role sits at the intersection of AI, search, and content systems, helping transform large volumes of unstructured content (policies, SOPs, FAQs, knowledge articles) into AI-ready, structured knowledge assets that power internal AI assistants and enterprise search.

You will partner closely with AI Architects, Engineering, Digital Experience, Legal, and Security teams to design and implement content ingestion, retrieval, and optimization pipelines that improve AI accuracy, trust, and employee self-service outcomes.

Responsibilities:

AI Content & Retrieval Engineering

  • Design and implement pipelines to ingest, normalize, and structure enterprise content for AI and search systems
  • Transform unstructured documents into structured/semi-structured formats optimized for LLM consumption
  • Apply semantic chunking, embedding generation, and vector indexing techniques
  • Support RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures powering AI assistants and knowledge systems
  • Ensure content freshness, versioning, and traceability across AI pipelines

Search, Knowledge & AI Systems • Build and optimize retrieval systems across multiple content platforms (not a single source of truth)

  • Support integration with enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Workday, and CMS platforms
  • Contribute to knowledge center design and how content is surfaced to AI assistants (Copilot + custom agents)
  • Work with vector search technologies and embedding strategies to improve relevance and grounding

Metadata, Structure & Content Modeling • Apply and help define metadata schemas, taxonomy, and content classification models

  • Improve information architecture and content structure for machine readability
  • Translate governance and content standards into system-enforced rules and validation logic

Retrieval Quality, Evaluation & Observability • Evaluate AI system performance using precision, recall, and answer quality metrics

  • Analyze retrieval gaps, failed queries, and content coverage issues
  • Instrument logging and observability for query behavior, index freshness, and AI performance
  • Continuously improve content and retrieval pipelines based on telemetry and user feedback

Governance, Privacy & Compliance • Ensure AI content pipelines align with enterprise privacy, security, and compliance standards

  • Support RBAC-aware retrieval, PII handling, and auditability
  • Validate that AI systems return authorized and compliant content only

Required Skills/Experience: • Hands-on experience building or contributing to RAG, semantic search, or AI retrieval systems

  • Experience working with unstructured documents and building content ingestion pipelines
  • Strong understanding of: • Embeddings, vector search, and semantic retrieval
  • Document chunking, indexing, and knowledge systems
  • Information architecture, metadata, or content structuring
  • Experience with tools such as: • LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI, or similar LLM frameworks
  • Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch
  • Proficiency in Python (required) and working with APIs / microservices
  • Experience working in enterprise environments with large-scale content systems

Desired Skills/Experience: • Experience with AI evaluation frameworks (precision/recall, hallucination tracking, etc.)

  • Exposure to content governance, taxonomy design, or knowledge management systems
  • Experience in regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, insurance)
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure)

If you meet the qualifications described and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
