Senior AI / Machine Learning Engineer

Location: Denver Tech Center (hybrid)

Reports to: CTO

BulkSource is digitizing the construction materials industry – a multi-billion-dollar market that’s never been properly automated. We’re a founder-led company with multiple exits building real infrastructure for how materials move across America.

We’re hiring a Senior AI / Machine Learning Engineer to design and deploy production AI systems that automate complex operational workflows across our platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, deploying, and integrating AI capabilities into a production SaaS platform. You’ll work across LLM systems, predictive models, and production infrastructure to bring AI-powered features into real-world use.

The Role

You will:

• Build and deploy AI-powered features embedded in our SaaS platform
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using proprietary industry data
• Fine-tune and deploy LLMs for domain-specific workflows
• Design AI agents that automate complex operational tasks
• Build predictive models for logistics, demand forecasting, and operational optimization
• Develop APIs and services that expose AI capabilities across the platform
• Work closely with product and engineering to integrate AI systems into production

You’ll balance model development, experimentation, and production engineering to deliver reliable AI systems that solve real operational problems.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on AI / ML engineering experience delivering production systems
• Strong Python programming skills and ML development experience
• Experience building and deploying machine learning models using frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar
• Experience building RAG pipelines and working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
• Familiarity with vector databases such as FAISS, Pinecone, ChromaDB, or Weaviate
• Experience building APIs and services for ML systems using frameworks like FastAPI or Flask
• Experience deploying ML models in cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Strong data handling skills using pandas, NumPy, and SQL

Nice to have:

• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar agent frameworks
• Experience deploying ML models using Docker or Kubernetes
• Background in logistics, supply chain, or operational optimization

You’re curious, practical, and comfortable working with messy real-world data to deliver production systems.

What Success Looks Like

30 Days: Understand BulkSource data systems and identify early opportunities for AI-driven automation.

60 Days: Ship initial AI features such as document extraction, operational copilots, or internal AI tools.

90 Days: AI systems are live in production supporting logistics coordination, forecasting, and workflow automation.

Compensation

$175,000 – $2225,000 base salary + equity and bonus eligibility.
