Job Description

Position: Software Engineer III - OpenXR Developer

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $75–$105/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: Full-time, high collaboration with cross-functional teams

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop XR applications using OpenXR, including architecture, implementation, testing, and iteration
  • Build interactive features such as input handling, scene interactions, and 3D UI systems
  • Optimize rendering performance, frame pacing, and latency-sensitive updates
  • Integrate platform and runtime features such as tracking spaces and extensions
  • Write clean, testable code and contribute to build and CI processes
  • Debug graphics, tracking, and input-related issues across devices
  • Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to design and document solutions

Requirements

  • Strong experience in software development
  • Strong experience building real-time 3D applications such as XR, games, or simulations
  • Strong experience with OpenXR concepts including sessions, swapchains, spaces, and actions
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and/or C# with debugging skills
  • Strong experience with Unity, Unreal, or native OpenXR rendering frameworks
  • Strong understanding of rendering performance and latency constraints in XR
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
