Permit Application & Management: Prepare, submit, and manage air quality permit modification submittals for new sources, modifications to existing sources, and renewals in accordance with Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD regulatio

Regulatory Interpretation & Compliance: Interpret and apply federal (e.g., Clean Air Act, NSPS, NESHAP), and local (e.g., MCAQD Rules and Regulations) air quality regulations to ensure complia

• nce.

Emission Calculations & Modeling: Conduct emission calculations for various pollutants from diverse sources using established methodologies and software. May involve performing or overseeing air dispersion modeling studies (e.g., AERMOD) to assess potential imp

• acts.

Permit Negotiation & Agency Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies (MCAQD, EPA) during the permitting process, addressing agency comments, negotiating permit conditions, and ensuring timely appr

• ovals.

Compliance Assurance: Develop and implement air quality compliance programs, including monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements as stipulated by permits and regul

• ations.

Audits & Inspections: Participate in and support internal and external environmental audits and inspections, addressing any findings related to air

• quality.

Project Management: Manage multiple air quality permitting projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are completed on time and withi

• n budget.

Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and guidance on air quality matters to project teams, operations personnel, and m

• anagement.

Stay Current: Continuously monitor changes in air quality regulations and technologies to ensure ongoing compliance and identify opportunities for i

mprovement.

Qua

• lifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related scientific or engineering field from an accredited

• institution.

Experience: 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering with a strong focus on air quality permitting a

• nd compliance.

Maricopa County Specific Experience: Demonstrated experience working with Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD) regulations and permitting processes is hi

• ghly preferred.

Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal (e.g., Clean Air Act), state (Arizona), and local (Maricopa County) air quality regulations, including New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), and Title V op

erating permits.
