Kroll Agency and Trustee Services Limited (“KATS”) provides independent loan and bond agency and trustee services to issuers, borrowers, and lenders/investors across the public and private debt markets.

The Payments Analyst is a key member of the dedicated payments team and works closely with Operations, Transaction Management (“TM’s”) and Client Services (“CS”) to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and control of all payments associated with new deal closings and ongoing debt service activities.

This position is a full‑time, 6‑month contract role.

Key Terms

  • Online Banking platforms e.g. DBS, DB, JPM, SC and Connexis/BNP
  • Payment File: Excel-based file containing beneficiary details, account holding bank, intermediary bank, payment amounts, currency, value dates, etc., which is uploaded by the Payments Team to the online banking platforms.

Responsibilities

Payment Processing and Controls

  • Input payment files relating to closing-day funds flows to ensure accurate release of all required payments.
  • Throughout each loan or bond facility’s lifecycle, input and release payment files for interest, fees, and principal due to lenders/investors.
  • Manage ad‑hoc and unscheduled principal repayments, consulting with Operations, TM’s and CS to ensure correct administration of principal and accrued interest in line with facility agreements and internal procedures.
  • Input/Review and release lender‑level payment files for repayments/prepayments, including monitoring approval stages and payment release status.
  • Ensure all payments are released ahead of respective currency cut‑off times.
  • Notify the banks of upcoming account activity as required.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to payment-related queries from the banks.

Verification & Risk Management

  • Ensure incoming funds are applied to KATS accounts for the relevant borrower/lender prior to the release of funds.
  • Stay up to date with related banking changes and ensure processes reflect evolving requirements.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support operational delivery.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years’ experience in payments operations within financial services or an operational environment.
  • Subject matter expertise in payment operations with the ability to guide and support wider teams.
  • To achieve strong knowledge of SWIFT formatting requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office applications.
  • Highly conscientious and meticulous, with a commitment to accuracy and meeting critical cut‑off times.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent numerical, organisational, and time‑management capabilities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of operational risk, with experience investigating payment failures and exceptions.
  • Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to work collaboratively or independently.
