Job Description

Description:

About Us: Headquartered in Chicago, Performance Trust Capital Partners, LLC is an investment bank that combines Wall Street scale with the agility of an independent, employee-owned firm. We help financial institutions uncover overlooked opportunities, navigate complexity, and make decisions grounded in insight—not impulse. Our work is focused on long-term impact and relationships built on what matters most: trust and enduring performance.

About the Position: We are actively seeking an Analyst on our Agency MBS Trading team, preferably with 1-3 years of MBS-related experience. A market-making trading seat at Performance Trust is a demanding role in terms of intensity and quantitative aptitude, with upside that is commensurate with one’s performance. This job is based in Chicago and is a fully In-office position (onsite 5 days a week).

Please Note: While we love connecting with curious candidates, we want to be transparent that informal conversations with our team do not factor into hiring decisions. The best way to move forward is to apply directly as we review every application carefully.

Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the following:

  • Support senior traders in market-making and risk management of Agency MBS, including specified pools and TBAs.
  • Prepare axes, pricing runs, and pool color for distribution to traders, sales, and clients.
  • Maintain desk analytics (Bloomberg, Yield Book, Excel) to track positions, risk, prepayments, and daily P&L.
  • Assist in trade execution and ensure accurate booking, reconciliation, and resolution of breaks.
  • Partner with sales on client requests, analytics, and trade ideas.
  • Contribute to desk commentary and client-facing materials to build market visibility.
  • Monitor market flows and identify relative value opportunities across pools and coupons.
  • Summarize key market news, Fed policy, and regulatory changes impacting Agency MBS

Requirements:

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a quantitative discipline, e.g., mathematics, finance, economics, engineering, computer science and/or statistics
  • Advanced training in Applied Math, Engineering, Statistical Modeling, Calculus, Computer Science, Physics or related disciplines a plus
  • Highly conversant in Excel, Bloomberg and Python
  • Strong attention to detail and process, particularly when under the pressure of deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work without direction and follow through on given tasks
  • Ability to manipulate, interpret and communicate large datasets
  • Ability to think systematically and quantitatively
  • Ability to apply technology and/or quantitative skills to solve complex trading problems
  • Experience with programming, scripting, and/or statistical software
  • License Requirements: FINRA SIE and Series 7, 63 or the ability to obtain licenses within 120 days of hire date
  • Candidates must be eligible to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
