Group Finance aims to deliver world‑class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions in product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
Responsibilities
The role is multi‑functional and requires (1) customer level analytics because DBS has developed a methodology to measure digital value creation of digital customers, resulting in the creation of a Digital Bank P&L; (2) business planning in the development of Scorecard KPI, to cascade & track progress; and (3) sitting alongside our business stakeholders daily to drive the strategic agenda.
Analytics & Reporting
- Drive the analysis at a customer level of the transactional behavior of digital customers.
- Report the Digital Bank P&L monthly and interpret financial drivers.
- Assist in the development of presentations and content material for senior management meetings on Scorecard & Digital Value Capture.
- Lead the quarterly checkpoint of Digital Value Capture (P&L) and Scorecard KPI measurements.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage a range of stakeholders to advance the Digital Value Capture agenda and help prepare senior stakeholders for quarterly strategic reviews.
- Daily interactions with working level stakeholders.
- Occasionally manage allocated staff to deliver reporting or automation requirements.
Business Planning
- Support monthly business performance reports (Flash and Actuals) by forming objective insights.
- Coordinate and develop appropriate performance metrics/systems in support of strategic intent.
- Conduct deep dives and insightful financial analytics to highlight focus areas, especially in revenue, expenses and balance sheet through customer profiling.
- Manage local and regional business stakeholders while presenting financials to the Regional business head.
- Facilitate business and internal finance ad‑hoc requests.
- Participate in team initiatives including digitization and reduction of manual processes to create a more efficient workflow.
- Support month‑end financial closing for business.
- Participate in cross‑functional project work and new product proposals to help drive the strategic agenda.
- Assist in the coordination of annual Scorecard review & setting of Scorecard at the beginning of the year.
- Assist in cascading the scorecard from top‑of‑house down to relationship managers or individuals and continuously track/monitor progress.
- Work with Technology or within the team to develop dashboards and automate current processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business, economics, statistics or a related discipline.
- Experience from a management consulting background (advantageous) or Business Finance background with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong self‑motivation, ability to function independently in a self‑directed environment.
- Proficiency in handling large volumes of data, sound knowledge of application software such as Excel and Power Point; knowledge of Hyperion Smartview and Qlikview is a plus.
- Knowledge of SQL (advantageous) & highly proficient in Excel.
- High attention to detail and willingness to continuously strive toward higher standards.
- Willingness to assist the team especially when there is a tight deadline.
