Location

Hybrid work environment; 2 days per week in office, ideally Ottawa, or at our hubs in Montreal or Toronto. Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

Team Overview EDC Investments is an evergreen investment group with over $4 billion invested in private equity, growth equity, and venture capital. We seek junior team members at the Analyst and Associate levels with a financial background and a demonstrated interest in private capital investments.

Successful candidates will contribute to direct venture capital and private equity deals, as well as fund investments, conducting market research, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, transaction processes, and relationship management.

Responsibilities

Assist senior team members with investment due diligence and proposal creation

Build and utilize Excel financial models for valuation, risk assessment, and cash‑flow profiling

Conduct market research and develop investment landscapes across multiple sectors

Coordinate investments across EDC teams (business development, technical advisory, legal, treasury, accounting, risk management) to move deals through due diligence and closing

Develop familiarity with term sheet provisions and investment legal documentation

Monitor portfolio performance and prepare fair‑market valuation assessments

Contribute to various reporting requirements for the Investments Program

Qualifications (Analyst)

Recently completed undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting

1–2 years of relevant work experience (including co‑op) in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, management consulting, or transaction services

Strong financial modeling skills

Qualifications (Associate)

Undergraduate (or master’s) degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting; other relevant degrees accepted with work experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, or management consulting

Outstanding financial modeling skills and verbal/written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingualism in English and French
