Job Description

The Analytics Developer role is responsible for the analysis, design, and development of enterprise-grade reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. This role focuses on transforming complex data into performant, intuitive, and visually effective reporting solutions that enable informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and DAX, along with a deep understanding of data visualization best practices. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that emphasizes dashboard design quality, performance optimization, and reliable delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI reports and dashboards that clearly communicate complex data in an intuitive and actionable format.
  • Create visually effective, user-friendly reporting experiences using Power BI features such as bookmarks, drill-through pages, tooltips, and conditional formatting.
  • Develop, enhance, publish, and maintain reports, dashboards, datasets, report schedules, and workspace configurations within Power BI Service.
  • Design and optimize data models, DAX measures, and calculations to support accurate, performant, and scalable reporting solutions.
  • Define, document, and promote Power BI development standards and data visualization best practices across the organization.
  • Monitor and optimize report and dashboard performance to ensure efficient load times and smooth user interactions.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation covering data sources, transformations, calculations, and report logic.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and confirm reporting outputs meet defined requirements.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and other technical partners to understand dependencies, refine requirements, and deliver reliable reporting solutions.
  • As needed, provide guidance and training to end users to support adoption and enable effective self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Stay current with Power BI features, platform enhancements, and industry best practices to continuously improve reporting solutions.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of reporting, dashboard design, and data visualization best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and optimizing DAX expressions of moderate to advanced complexity.
  • Experience using SQL to query and analyze data of moderate complexity including CTEs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to coordinate work and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences and organizational levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment preferred.
  • Experience with Paginated Reports preferred.
  • Experience with Databricks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, orchestration, and version control tools is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience developing reports and dashboards.

Salary Range: $90,000 USD - $110,000 USD
