What you will be doing:
This position develops detailed analytical reports and forecasts, reporting their findings to the Fleet Operations Program Manager, DES Executive Management, and stakeholders that support multi-agency projects. In this position, you will implement and monitor the fleet data quality program designed to support the foundation of all fleet analysis and reporting. You will be researching and evaluating various Results Washington strategic action items; specifically analyzing fiscal impacts to stakeholders designed to identify and resolve inefficiencies in fleet processes. You will develop and prepare sustainable and complex analysis reporting to support current and future fleet reporting needs and will participate in and support efforts to modernize the fleet program focused on providing world class fleet services.
In this position, you will research and evaluate various Results Washington strategic action items, specifically regarding fiscal impacts to stakeholder fleets.
Some of what you'll enjoy doing:
- Conducting analysis on the various aspects of available fleet management systems. This includes functionality, cost benefit analysis, identifying opportunities for cost avoidance, savings, and operational improvements.
- Analyzing vehicle utilization, maintenance costs, vehicle replacement needs, forecasting, lease rates, and full vehicle life cycle costs to support data-driven fleet decisions.
- Serve as the primary data and reporting contact for internal partners and external agencies; producing clear, defensible reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, MS Query, Excel, and other analytics tools.
- Driving the fleet data quality program by establishing data standards, maintaining data systems, resolving data issues, and collaborating with data entry staff and ETS experts to strengthen data accuracy and reliability
- Conducting research and benchmarking to position DES Fleet Operations as a an innovative leader in the Zero-Emission and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Segment.
- Providing recommendations for appropriate EV and Alternative Fuel vehicle applications and performing cost-. benefit analysis of emerging technologies and vehicle types.
REQUIRED:
Any combination of relevant work experience and/or education totaling nine (9) years.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, OR related field
AND
Five (5) years of professional-level experience in business analytics.
AND
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs to include MS Query.

- Education, training, or certification in business or fleet management.

- Fiscal Accountability: Responsibly and accurately handle the public's money when processing financial transactions and/or committing fiscal resources. Consistently follow applicable fiscal guidelines, regulations, principles, and standards. Prepare fiscal documents such as field orders, invoices, travel vouchers, journal vouchers, vendor payments, etc. Maintain and modify fiscal record-keeping systems, databases, and spreadsheets. Review and process vendor payment claims; resolve problems related to accounts payable and prepare entries to record and liquidate encumbrances. Employs precision and attention to detail when entering or calculating fiscal data, noticing errors and/or minor differences in values that may be easy to overlook.
