Our client is a top-tier international investment bank currently on the lookout for an Application Support Analyst (Cash Equity) to join their front-office IT division. This is an excellent opportunity for a technical expert to become a cornerstone of the firm’s Equity Trading operations in Hong Kong, supporting a sophisticated regional business that spans major Asian exchanges.
As a critical link between technology and the trading desk, you will manage a world-class vendor ecosystem—including Fidessa, Flextrade, and Ullink—to ensure the peak performance of EMS, OMS, and proprietary algo engines. Key Responsibilities:
- System Integrity: Perform rigorous daily health checks, monitoring, and testing to ensure the high availability of critical trading infrastructure, including OMS, EMS, algo engines, and Middle Office systems.
- Front-Office Support: Provide day-to-day regional support to business users, serving as the primary technical point of contact in a high-pressure trading environment.
- Connectivity & Implementation: Lead the analysis, development, and testing of new client connections across various platforms.
- Change Management: Deploy system updates and perform post-change validations in a well-controlled and prudent manner.
- Client & Exchange Liaison: Coordinate with external exchanges for project delivery and compliance requirements, including participation in market rehearsals.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise between business owners and technical teams to manage priorities, schedules, and cross-departmental infrastructure incidents.
- Solution Design: Conduct feasibility studies and impact analyses on potential system solutions to provide clear, actionable insights for business consideration.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A University Degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within Investment Banking, Financial firms, or Brokerage Trading.
- Direct experience supporting Equity Trading Applications, including Electronic Exchange connectivity, DMA, and Algo trading. Previous experience supporting traders is a mandatory prerequisite.
- Hands-on proficiency with Fidessa, Flextrade, or Ullink (Broadridge) is required.
- In-depth knowledge of FIX messaging protocols and strong technical skills in Windows, UNIX/Linux, and SQL databases (Sybase or MSSQL).
- Solid understanding of Equity Cash Trading across major Asian exchanges and various order flow dynamics.
- A proactive lateral thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong command of English for business communication.
- Availability for weekend work and out-of-office hour support is required to maintain the 24/7 integrity of the trading platform.
