  • About the Opportunity:

The Applied Scientist, Customer Growth role focuses on advancing profitable growth by developing and deploying artificial intelligence models within growth marketing and demand partnerships. The position drives initiatives that leverage large-scale user data to create scalable, personalized in-app features for onboarding, engagement, and reactivation. This role contributes by pioneering generative AI and agentic systems to enhance marketing effectiveness and customer experience.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Lead applied science projects with a focus on business impact
  • Develop and deploy AI systems such as customer lifetime value models, LLM-powered systems for ad copy generation, recommendation engines, and personalized communication models
  • Analyze diverse data types including structured, unstructured, observational, and experimental data to inform model development
  • Balance speed and scientific rigor in solution design
  • Ensure reliability and performance of deployed models, including monitoring and iterative improvements
  • Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in applied AI or data science with proven model deployment in production
  • Proficient in coding and debugging in Python
  • Familiarity with agentic software engineering tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex
  • Strong background in probability and statistics, including experimental design, predictive modeling, optimization, and causal inference
  • Ability to develop technical roadmaps with measurable business impact
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
  • Skill in breaking down complex problems and evaluating tradeoffs for impactful outcomes
  • Clear and effective communication with cross-functional teams of varying technical levels
  • Pay Range and Compensation Package:
  • For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $187,900 - $243,100
  • For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $169,200 - $218,900
  • For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $159,800 - $206,800
  • Actual salaries will vary based on job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency
