Applied Scientist II, Prime Video – Personalization and Discovery Science

As a technologist, you’ll own the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state‑of‑the‑art experiences for our customers. You’ll work on fast‑paced, challenging projects, experimenting with new possibilities and collaborating with remarkable people.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop ML models for recommendation and search systems using deep learning, online learning, and optimization methods.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers to expand product insights and create experiments that identify high‑impact projects for roadmap planning.
• Stay current with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field.
• Publish research findings in top conferences and journals.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master’s degree and 4+ years of experience in CS, CE, ML or a related field.
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or a related language.
• Strong background in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high‑performance computing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Unix/Linux.
• Professional software development experience.

Compensation

Base salary range: $136,000 – $223,400 per year, depending on market. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other compensation may also be provided.
