We’re looking for a curious, empathetic, and passionate applied scientist to innovate with machine learning in the video space. In this senior role you’ll prototype and integrate advanced models at scale to power experiences used by customers worldwide, from small start‑ups to major broadcasting companies.

As a Senior Applied Scientist, you’ll both lead and contribute as a key technical member. You will take ambiguous and complex problems, design innovative models and algorithms, and balance customer needs with long‑term maintainability and scalability. You will mentor and collaborate across disciplines, driving consensus among product, engineering, and data science teams.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Build prototypes, optimize and deploy advanced machine learning models into production to solve complex challenges in video processing, understanding, and content monetization.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineers, and data scientists to design and deliver customer‑focused features and enhancements.
  • Develop scalable solutions that enhance video service quality, performance, and resiliency through data‑driven modeling and experimentation.
  • Participate in code and model reviews to identify edge cases, anticipate challenges, and improve the quality of scientific and engineering work.
  • Mentor team members on machine learning best practices, advanced modeling techniques, and service improvements.
  • Contribute to operational tooling—metrics, dashboards, and monitoring—to ensure reliable performance at scale.
  • Contribute to applied research publications in conferences and internal outlets.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, Python or a related language.
  • Experience with neural deep‑learning methods and general machine learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience developing and deploying large‑scale machine learning systems, especially in video processing or computer vision.
  • Expertise in large language models or the ability to develop this expertise quickly.
  • Deep expertise in modern deep‑learning frameworks and production ML systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication, capable of presenting complex information clearly to varied audiences.
