Job Description

Responsible for developing and applying advanced data science and machine learning solutions to support content performance, audience engagement, and strategic decision-making within a streaming and media environment. This role combines scientific expertise with product and business alignment, guiding initiatives from feasibility assessment and model development through deployment and ongoing optimization. The position focuses on leveraging entertainment data to improve content recommendations, forecast subscriber behavior, and enhance overall customer experience.

The role requires translating business objectives, audience insights, and technical opportunities into scalable data science solutions and actionable insights. Success in this position requires strong ownership of analytical outcomes, the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, and deep expertise in predictive modeling and media analytics.

Experience Requirements

  • 4–8 years of applied science, data science, or related experience
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
  • Strong experience with forecasting, predictive modeling, and customer cohort analysis
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, ETL processes, and data analysis tools such as Excel/VBA
  • Experience working with large datasets, including behavioral and engagement data
  • Experience or familiarity with media/entertainment industry data is a plus

The team leverages data science methodologies to inform decisions related to content acquisition, programming strategy, and subscriber retention.
  • Projects typically begin with evaluating business opportunities and determining the feasibility of data-driven solutions. The team then develops algorithms, builds predictive models, and partners with cross-functional stakeholders to implement and refine solutions that drive measurable impact.
  • The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, requiring regular interaction with technical teams, analysts, and business stakeholders. The role is currently open to provide coverage during a temporary leave, with potential for extension based on business needs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assess feasibility, scope, and timelines for new data science initiatives supporting content strategy and subscriber growth
  • Develop and enhance machine learning models to optimize content recommendations and predict viewership patterns
  • Analyze social media sentiment, audience behavior, and campaign performance to generate actionable insights
  • Forecast subscriber behavior and evaluate the effectiveness of promotional strategies
  • Leverage streaming data, content metadata, audience demographics, and competitive intelligence to inform decision-making
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into business processes and systems
  • Maintain awareness of emerging techniques in machine learning, generative AI, and media analytics
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous environments, driving clarity and direction for data-driven initiatives
