Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Artificial Intelligence Engineer to manage our new state-of-the-art robotic facility dedicated to generating, maintaining, and phenotyping human models derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing facility's operations, including scheduling projects, collaborating with researchers, developing experimental protocols, and ensuring the facility's resources are utilized efficiently and effectively. The position focuses on proper management of robotics instrumentation, building, designing, and testing automated systems to improve operational processes, utilizing AI-based machine learning models to ensure smooth running of diverse protocols, data collection, storage, and analysis, and troubleshooting technical issues. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research while managing a critical resource for advancing the understanding of human biology through innovative technologies.

Job Duties

  • Oversees the daily operation of robotic systems, microscopy, and electrophysiology platforms.
  • Coordinates and schedules facility usage for various research projects, ensuring smooth workflow and minimizing downtime.
  • Uses automation intelligence tools to build functional operational systems.
  • Builds algorithms to integrate multiple robotics systems, ensure flow of multiple projects in parallel, data collection and storage.
  • Reviews and tests robotics operations to define and correct errors and improve the output.
  • Uses AI-based algorithms to develop, optimize, and implement experimental protocols tailored to specific research needs with the supervision of core directors.
  • Assists in data collection, processing, and interpretation, ensuring accurate and reproducible results.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical and software issues with experiments as they arise.
  • Monitors and tracks ongoing research projects, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
  • Works with researchers to prioritize and manage access to equipment based on project requirements.
  • Stays updated on the latest advancements in robotics and AI-methods applicable to robotics, implementing improvements to enhance the facility's capabilities.
  • Leads the acquisition of new equipment and the development of new AI-based methodologies that align with the research goals of the institution.
  • Participates in strategic planning for the growth and expansion of the facility's research scope.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Computer Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in robotics workflow design, instrument integration, precision control and testing.
  • Software and programming skills.
  • Experience managing software projects in research or healthcare settings.
  • Prior work in healthcare and life sciences.
