Please review the following job description:

Team Lead role that provides structure and underwriting expertise to securitization lending transactions in terms of execution, structuring, legal documentation, underwriting, and ongoing portfolio management. Ability to execute across a wide variety of asset classes including new and bespoke transaction structures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Administration = ownership of processes and procedures for booking and closing loans, understanding the systems used in these processes, portfolio & management reporting, and vendor relationships

o Ensure processes are efficient and adhere to enterprise standards

o Advocate for ASG needs, understand escalation channels and navigate the different internal groups that support these processes

o Promote a culture of accountability around day-to-day activities to ensure integrity of reporting and implement controls as necessary

o Work with group head to create / improve reporting required to run the business

Portfolio = oversight and accountability of key portfolio management processes (monthly and ongoing) ensuring adherence to enterprise and group policies, procedures, and controls

o Includes monthly asset quality and ad hoc portfolio reporting

Governance = ensuring the group has adequate procedures, controls, and overarching governance to adhere to enterprise and group credit and compliance policies

o Includes communication of expectations and changes as well as ongoing training for ASG teammates

Skills required:

Leadership:

o Allocation of work flow and continued definition of roles within the team

o Collaborate with other credit delivery teams regarding best practices, resource allocation

o Ensure the team has the resources needed to execute processes in a consistent and efficient manner; Advocate for additional resources / support as needed

o Ability to make decisions by evaluating expectations/requirements, downstream impact, and resources

Critical Thinking:

o Ability to evaluate processes, find root causes of problems, and make changes as necessary

o Filter incoming requests to the group from other parts of the bank; Understand "what" as well as the "why" of requests; Allocate resources accordingly

o Understand the impact of various processes and systems on each other

Organization/Attention to Detail:

o Ensure monthly processes are completed on time, accurately, and hold responsible parties accountable

o Effectively document processes and procedures for the group

Communication:

o Identify and escalate issues in a timely manner

o Maintain relationships with and navigate groups within the enterprise (e.g. BURM, Audit, Wholesale credit reporting, data analytics, Technology, Regulatory Reporting, Accounting and Finance)

o Effectively communicate expectations within the group (pod leaders and individual deal teams)

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS degree, or equivalent education and training

10+ years of related work experience

Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across functional areas to resolve complex issues

Strong interpersonal skills which foster teamwork, trust, creativity/innovation and accountability

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and insightfully

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA degree, with a Finance focus
  • 5-7 years of related capital markets experience

The annual base salary for this position is $275,000 - $300,000.
