Position Summary
The Assistant Risk Manager provides support to the Risk Manager in the administration, coordination, and monitoring of claims and risk management activities. This role assists with claims documentation, reporting, RMIS data entry, client communications, and special projects related to loss control and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Risk Manager with the handling and administration of claims, including General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Professional Liability, Premises Liability, and Automobile claims (including Hired and Non‑Owned Auto coverage).
- Supporting incident investigation, claim documentation, and follow‑up activities to ensure timely resolution and accurate recordkeeping.
- Gathering, reviewing , and organizing loss data, claim files, and supporting documentation.
- Preparing and maintaining reports, summaries, and spreadsheets related to open claims, loss history, and special projects.
- Enter and maintain claims and risk information in the RMIS system accurately and timely.
- Coordinating with carriers, adjusters, attorneys, and internal stakeholders as directed by the Risk Manager.
- Assisting with scheduling and preparation for loss review meetings and client discussions.
- Supporting client training initiatives related to risk awareness and loss prevention.
- Performing administrative duties related to claims and risk management processes.
- Providing administrative support as needed and assist with special projects assigned by the Risk Manager or leadership.
- Handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Claims handling or insurance industry experience preferred.
- Exposure to commercial lines claims, including General Liability or Commercial Auto, preferred.
- Adjuster’s license a plus, but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to analyze information and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn RMIS systems.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.

Pay: $52,458.31 - $70,000.00 per year
