Responsibilities:

Investigate claims and determine coverage under a customer’s policy.

Inform and educate customers about the claims process.

Arrange and coordinate required vendor services (repairs, appraisals, rentals, towing).

Process claims payments and ensure accurate information is captured within our claims system.

Deliver exceptional customer service to our customers and brokers.

Ensure claim reserves and payments are accurately entered and processed in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.

Review appraisal findings and guide customers through the valuation and settlement process, including documentation and payment issuance.

Assess loss details and damage areas to confirm coverage applicability, including ordering police reports and contacting witnesses when necessary.

 

 

Requirements:

1-3 years of prior customer service experience required

Undergraduate or post-secondary degree is preferred

Insurance industry experience, call center experience, or experience within a brokerage setting is helpful

Interested in pursuing a CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional Designation)

Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Effective Communication Skills: Ability to convey information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to ensure mutual understanding and collaboration among team members and stakeholders

Sound Judgment & Decision-Making Skills: Capability to analyze situations, consider various perspectives, and make well-informed decisions

Strong Empathy: Demonstrating a deep understanding of and sensitivity to the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of others, fostering a positive customer experience

Resilience: Maintaining composure and a positive attitude in the face of challenges, setbacks, and stressful situations, while continuing to work towards achieving goals

 

Please note that this role operates in a hybrid environment, with two days a week expected in our Cambridge Ontario office.

The expected base salary range for this position is $48,500-$73,000. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.

Please note: This range reflects the expected base salary for this role but may not represent the full compensation range for all experience and skill levels. During the recruitment process, we will discuss and consider how your unique qualifications align with the broader range for this position.
