Overview

Direct Counsel is seeking an Investment Management Associate to join a leading law firm’s growing New York team. This role focuses on fund formation and offers direct client exposure across private equity, hedge funds, private credit, real estate, and other alternative investment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on fund formation across various asset classes
• Draft and negotiate fund documents and offering materials
• Work directly with sponsors, investors, and internal teams
• Support ongoing fund operations and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of fund formation experience at a law firm
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Team-oriented with strong attention to detail
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• New York Bar admission required

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $225,000 – $435,000 + bonus (based on class year)
