Job Summary :

Our Credit Analysts have extensive knowledge of our risk assessment and portfolio risk management framework which they use to support our Account Managers with credit reviews, ongoing risk monitoring and client creditworthiness. They also assess Standard Chartered’s risk appetite against market and economic conditions across the different markets and asset classes.

About Our Banking And Coverage Team

Our Banking and Coverage team owns and leads the management and development of our Client Relationships globally. They work across our global network with product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash and market solutions for our clients. The solutions include varied products and services, from sustainable trade finance to credit derivatives, to mergers and acquisitions advisory.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful Analyst within the International Corporates team, you will provide proactive, comprehensive and timely credit analysis to Relationship Managers and the Credit community.

Your Daily Job Would Include

  • Provide Relationship Managers with client insights in relation to an industry sector, client information and account plans
  • Manage ongoing quality of portfolio, producing exception reports, review credit extending across entire portfolio to ensure consistency of approach
  • Educate Relationship Managers on macroeconomic fundamentals impacting their credit portfolio
  • Provide creative recommendations to Relationship Managers by monitoring peer groups & competitors and undertaking industry reviews based on non-standard industry / company information / data (equity, credit reports, press and magazine reports)
  • Develop good relationship with clients to understand their banking requirements, structure deals, and get insights into their business and financials
  • Work closely with client to ensure product / deal structure appropriateness
  • Be engaged in deal origination and execution efforts including providing assistance to Relationship Managers for the same
  • Monitor portfolio revenues and returns and ensuring the accuracy of MIS
  • Liaise and manage various product partners, across Parent and client subsidiary locations on account management and origination
  • Evaluate learning around exception cases and seek to share this with other Analysts to help properly capture risk profiles and ensure robust credit analysis
  • Assist, train and mentor Junior Credit Analysts, Interns and International Graduates
  • Assist Head CA / Relationship Managers / other team members on ad-hoc projects / deals etc. as and when required.

Strategy

  • Assisting the relationship managers to run the account strategies of International Corporates Singapore portfolio of clients effectively.

Business

  • Assisting the International Corporates Singapore relationship managers in driving client revenues & meeting revenue return targets for the Business by ensuring effective collaboration across the various internal & external stakeholders on a Business-As-Usual basis.

Processes

  • Plays a key role in managing the end-to-end credit application process for International Corporates Singapore for existing clients as well as new-to-bank clients.

People and Talent

  • To contribute to the upskilling agenda of the wider CIB Singapore credit analyst team by training and providing mentorship to the junior credit analysts across CIB Singapore, interns and International Graduates.

Risk Management

  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating potential credit / business risks to the International Corporates Singapore franchise while driving revenues in collaboration with the relationship managers and various product partners.

Governance

  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory & credit process / policies framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
