(Associate) Engineer, Wet/BGBM/Implant/Furnace Module (Semiconductor 8-inch FAB)

Hong Kong Microelectronics Research and Development Institute (MRDI) is established to seize the huge potential market for third-generation semiconductors and align with the national strategy for technological development.

The MRDI is looking for a dynamic and high-calibre professional to fill the position of (Associate) Engineer in Wet, BGBM, Furnace or Implant module.

Key Responsibilities

• Support equipment operation, process development, and daily monitoring for the assigned process module (Wet, Implant, Furnace, or BGBM).

• Assist in equipment move-in, hookup, and commissioning activities in coordination with facility engineers and vendors.

• Assist senior engineers with the installation, testing, and maintenance of process equipment to ensure safe and stable operations.

• Conduct routine operation, testing, and preventive maintenance (PM) of process equipment to ensure system stability and performance.

• Participate in preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.

• Follow and help to refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for process equipment.

• Collect and analyse process data under supervision to support R&D and yield improvement efforts.

• Maintain proper documentation of activities, including logbooks, troubleshooting reports, and process records.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including process integration, facility engineering, and EHS.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications • A Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or related disciplines.

• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant internship or work experience in semiconductor or equipment engineering are welcome.
• Strong interest in semiconductor process development, and equipment operation.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and hands-on technical skills.

• Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English (including Putonghua and Cantonese), with the ability to collaborate across diverse process and facility teams.
• Shift work and rotational rest days are required.

Note: The actual position offered will be commensurate with the applicant's qualifications and experience.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A gratuity of 15% of the salary will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the contract. The incumbent will normally work five days a week. The initial employment contract spans 24 months and can be renewed with a longer tenure upon mutual agreement of the incumbent and MRDI.
