Overview:

The Infrastructure & Project Finance ("IPF") team is part of Scotiabank Corporate and Investment ("CIB") Division. IPF works closely with a wide range of industry coverage and product partners to originate, structure, and execute structured, acquisition, and project financings. IPF provides sector expertise, strategic advisory, and tailored financial solutions to our clients across developed and emerging markets. IPF's primary focus is providing and arranging debt financing (e.g., greenfield and brownfield projects, corporate, acquisition) and debt advisory services for strategic owners and financial sponsors in the infrastructure space, including ports, airports, toll roads, public infrastructure, renewable energy, conventional power, transmission, digital infrastructure, and energy infrastructure across the Americas.

Position Highlights:

Associates in Infrastructure & Project Finance enjoy a stimulating and challenging work environment in which they execute a broad range of transactions across various forms and sources of debt capital. Associates work on assignments ranging from origination to execution with various industry and product teams at the firm including Real Estate, Telecom, Technology, Debt Capital Markets, Global Loan Syndications, Derivative Products Group, Global Risk Management, and Sustainability Finance. Associates will work with colleagues in the United States and Canada. In this role, Associates will gain knowledge and understanding of bank lending, institutional debt capital markets, and derivative markets.

The role will support deal execution, portfolio management and strategic projects. At the early stages of their career, Associates' responsibilities include due diligence, financial modeling, research, reviewing and providing feedback to legal documentation, supporting internal credit approval processes, collaborating with various industry groups on multiple strategic initiatives and mentoring/supervising Analysts. A high degree of responsibility is afforded to those demonstrating initiative and the desire to take on such responsibility. As the individual's career progresses, Associates take on increased responsibilities on live transactions and strategic projects for internal stakeholders under the guidance of senior team members. Associates are in contact with senior team members and clients at the earliest possible stage, allowing them to gain experience in managing and cultivating relationships.

A significant amount of effort, diligence and initiative is required to properly execute assignments. The complexity of clients' financial requirements coupled with the intense competitiveness of the banking industry necessitates a full commitment to the task at hand. Standards are very high as most work is presented to senior executives at client firms and supervision is provided only to the extent that it is required.
