Position Title: Analyst or Associate, Portfolio & Risk Management

Location: Los Angeles

Reports to: Managing Director, Head of Portfolio & Risk Management

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Analyst or Associate to join our Portfolio & Risk Management team. The right candidate will have strong academic credentials and experience in managing commercial real estate portfolios consisting of private equity and loan positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing financial reporting from counterparties; assessing compliance with loan reporting and financial covenants and assisting with assembling reports for investors.
  • Developing and monitoring deal-level KPIs.
  • Maintaining fund- and portfolio-level financial projections.
  • Assisting with designing and running stress tests at the investment and fund level to assess variability of returns, liquidity, leverage and other key metrics.
  • Assisting with fund-level cash flow planning and coordination with treasury.
  • Assisting with reviewing loan funding requests; coordinating with appraisers, construction consultants and other service providers in management of investments.
  • Other projects as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, real estate, finance, statistics or related focus of study preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in portfolio and risk management or a related field; familiarity with real estate private equity and loan transactions.
  • Strong accounting and financial modeling skills; familiarity with statistics preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities; ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to articulate complex concepts in clear concise and professional manner.
  • Highly organized; attention to detail; dedicated to excellence in work product and delivery.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.

Compensation: base salary range of $120,000-150,000/year with a discretionary bonus
