Job Title: Research Associate I
Location: Bainbridge Island, WA
Duration: 12 Months Contract

Position Overview
We are seeking a Research Associate I to support Early Solutions Research within the Structural Biology group. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level scientist with a background in biochemistry or related sciences to gain hands-on laboratory experience while supporting innovative research initiatives. This role works under supervision and focuses on performing routine laboratory activities, supporting experiments, maintaining lab operations, and contributing to project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support structural biology research by performing basic laboratory activities under supervision
- Apply and develop knowledge of standard structural biology and biochemistry laboratory techniques
- Assist with operation of specialized instruments, including X-ray generators and biophysical data collection equipment (training provided)
- Perform experiments alongside senior researchers and support data generation activities
- Assist senior staff with presentation and documentation of laboratory data
- Maintain accurate lab notebooks and adhere to documentation and record-keeping standards
- Support general laboratory maintenance, organization, and daily operations
- Assist with inventory management and laboratory supply tracking
- Participate in additional projects or collateral duties supporting team and corporate objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline
- 0–3 years of laboratory experience (academic or industry experience accepted)
- Basic biochemistry laboratory skills required, including:
- Pipetting
- Lab notebook documentation
- Use of micropipettes/microproducts
- Centrifuges
- Analytical balances
