Job Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Manufacturing / Automation Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of automated systems in a high-volume plastic injection molding environment. This position plays a key role in improving operational efficiency, enhancing product quality, and advancing continuous improvement efforts through the use of robotics, machine vision, and industrial automation technologies.
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in injection molding automation and a proven track record of successfully managing supplier-driven automation projects from concept through launch. This role also requires the ability to assess and clearly communicate the return on investment (ROI) for automation initiatives, ensuring capital expenditures are strategically aligned with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automation for part extraction, trimming, assembly, and packaging.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Integrate and support robotics (YUSHIN, SEPRO) and design EOAT.
- Deploy and optimize machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Teledyne DALSA).
- Lead automation projects from concept to launch, including FAT/SAT and commissioning.
- Improve workflows, reduce cycle times, and resolve automation related issues.
- Maintain documentation and ensure OSHA/ANSI/EUROMAP compliance.
- Train operators and maintenance teams.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Robotic, Automation, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing automation, ideally within injection molding environments
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Experience with robotic systems and programming (Yushin, Sepro)
- Knowledge of machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Teledyne DALSA)
- Familiarity with CAD platforms (SolidWorks, Autodesk, Creo, Siemens NX)
- Understanding of industrial networks (EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
- Strong expertise in injection molding processes and supporting equipment (EOAT, gate cutting, conveyors, assembly systems)

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
