Position Title & Basic Details
Were seeking an Automation Engineer / Controls Programmer with experience in automotive manufacturing systems. This is a contract-based opportunity requiring 510+ years of experience. A bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred.
Overview
In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning PLC-based automation systems for highthroughput automotive production environments. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Rockwell Automation platforms and thrives in fastpaced manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and program PLC control systems using Rockwell Automation ControlLogix and CompactLogix platforms
- Develop HMI applications using FactoryTalk Optix and/or FactoryTalk View
- Configure industrial networks including Ethernet/IP and related protocols
- Commission control systems onsite and support system startup
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, I/O, and communication issues
- Support FAT/SAT, production rampup, and system optimization
- I/O lists, Network diagrams, and Test procedures
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Technical Expertise: Rockwell ControlLogix / CompactLogix PLCs, FactoryTalk Optix and/or FactoryTalk View
- Experience: 510+ years in industrial automation
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, structured troubleshooting, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
- Safety PLC and safety circuit experience
- Robotics and machine integration experience
