Job Description

Job Title: Automation Engineer

Reports to: Automation Engineering Manager

Team: Automation Engineering

Travel requirements: up to 40%

Our client, a leading industrial automation solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, program, and implement advanced robotic systems for industrial manufacturing environments. This high‑impact role focuses on improving manufacturing efficiency, safety, and quality through custom automation solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver scalable robotic systems from concept through commissioning.

Design and develop robotic automation systems for industrial applications

Translate customer requirements into practical automation solutions

Contribute to system architecture and technical planning

Programming & Integration

Program and debug industrial robotic systems (FANUC, ABB, KUKA or similar)

Integrate robots with PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, and safety devices

Configure and validate industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, etc.)

Implementation & Commissioning

Support on‑site installation and commissioning

Troubleshoot and optimize robotic systems in production environments

Provide post‑deployment technical support and system enhancements

Partner with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure system compatibility

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field

7+ years of experience in robotic automation or similar role

Hands‑on robotic programming and systems integration experience

Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, industrial vision systems

Experience with industrial communication protocols

Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics

Solid troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills

Experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments

Familiarity with industrial safety standards and risk assessments

Driven - takes initiative and ownership of projects

Technically strong - balances engineering expertise with practical problem‑solving

Work on cutting‑edge robotic automation projects
