Business Function
Risk Management Group (RMG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, RMG is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on key risk issues of the Bank. To manage risk effectively and deliver strong financial performance, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Non-Performing Loan (NPL) / Specific Provision (SP) and Regulatory Reporting
- Actual SP and Full Year Forecast (FYF) - Produce actual SP, FYF, SP Flash (including SP budget exercise)
- Manage NPL for Secured Products (upgrade / downgrade)
- Perform clean-up exercises for small balance write-offs, and manage various write-off processes for unsecured products, including early write-off and Restructured Instalment Loan (RIL) write-off balance transfers
- Regulatory Reporting (HKMA/MAS) - Manage various reports and disclosures to ensure compliance. This includes reporting on NPL, SP and write-offs to Finance
Operation Supports
- Prepare reports on bad debt recovery trends, subjective defaults, balance saved, amounts collected, entry rate & compound rate etc. for collection performance review
- Cross-check terminated accounts, map saving/current accounts for bankruptcy/deceased cases, waiver reconciliations etc. to ensure operational accuracy
Reconciliation and Reporting
- Perform General Ledger Account Ownership (GLAO) reconciliation
- Process Manual Journal Entries (MJE) posting
Requirements
- Degree holder with major in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or related equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years solid experience in credit/ collection within Consumer Banking is preferable
- Good knowledge in banking operations especially in collection field
- High proficiency in Python, SQL, MS Access and Excel Marco
- Strong self-motivation and analytical skills
- Familiar with guidelines / regulations laid down in the Code of Banking Practice, Code of Practice on Consumer Credit Data and HKMA Supervisory Manual
- With good communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in both written and spoken Chinese and English
