Job Description:

The Banking Portfolio Manager is involved in evaluating risk and managing the Bank's loan portfolio by providing analytical support and credit oversight, overseeing tasks such as annual reviews, renewals, ensuring compliance with loan covenants, and managing financial collections for specific loan portfolios. Works alongside Relationship Managers to cultivate and strengthen a top-tier and profitable loan portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess relevant information to determine the risk rating and to ascertain whether a prospect or existing credit represents an acceptable risk.
  • Monitor credit risk developments among customers and in the portfolio, and advise management on any modifications to risk levels.
  • Work in tandem with Relationship Managers to engage in discussions with current and potential clients to identify their particular needs and preferences.
  • Acquire accurate financial data to ensure thorough risk assessment and meticulous underwriting scrutiny.
  • Assist clients with questions and confirm the accuracy of information for loan underwriting procedures.
  • Investigate the worldwide cash flow with respect to commercial and individual prospects, borrowers, and guarantors.
  • Craft financial spreadsheets, credit presentations, narratives, relationship summaries, and loan pricing models to present essential information.
  • Help in setting up the costs and structure for fresh loans and extensions.
  • Administer the activities involved in completing loan closures and bookings.
  • Observe industry trends carefully and assess industry-specific data to pinpoint potential risks.
  • Maintain a schedule for sending out renewal notices every 120 days and conduct comprehensive audits to ensure compliance with loan agreements and annual evaluations.
  • Meet all essential regulatory obligations and complete mandatory training courses.
  • Conduct any additional responsibilities as mandated.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree completion in business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Candidates with two years of experience or more are encouraged to apply, with a preference for those with two to four years of experience.
  • Capable of applying strong analytical skills to assess and underwrite credit effectively.
  • Shows determination towards goals and displays proficiency in resolving issues.
  • Adept at developing and maintaining positive relationships through strong interpersonal skills.
  • Competent in grammar, typing, and spelling expertise.
  • Skilled in effectively organizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office software like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
