BI Developer – Tableau to Power BI Migration

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced BI Developer with strong expertise in Tableau and Power BI to lead the migration of enterprise dashboards and reports from Tableau to Power BI. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to drive end-to-end BI modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of Tableau dashboards, reports, and data sources to Power BI

• Assess existing Tableau assets and define migration strategy, standards, and best practices

• Design and develop Power BI data models, dashboards, and reports aligned with business needs

• Translate Tableau calculations, LOD expressions, and visualizations into Power BI equivalents

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure reporting accuracy

• Mentor and guide BI developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure high-quality delivery

• Optimize Power BI reports for performance, scalability, and usability

• Manage deployments across environments (Dev, QA, Production)

• Work with data engineering teams on data sourcing, transformation, and refresh strategies

• Maintain proper documentation and ensure knowledge transfer post-migration

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics

• Strong hands-on experience with Tableau:

• Dashboard design

• Calculated fields

• Level of Detail (LOD) expressions

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI:

• Power BI Desktop & Service

• DAX

• Power Query (M language)

• Data modeling (star/snowflake schema)

• Proven experience in Tableau to Power BI migration projects

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases

• Experience working with data sources such as:

• SQL Server

• Oracle

• Snowflake

• Azure Synapse (or similar)

• Strong understanding of BI performance tuning and best practices

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to lead teams and work in fast-paced environments
