Global Markets

We offer research and access to global markets for institutional, corporate, and retail clients through an integrated suite of sales and trading solutions that include debt, foreign exchange, credit, equity, securitization, and commodities.

Program Overview:

Sales & Trading Analysts and Associates work in the Global Markets Group of BMO Capital Markets, comprising Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC), Global Equities and Financing Solutions (GEFS), Cross Asset Solutions (CAS) and Global Markets Engineering serving our corporate, institutional and government clients. There is a defined onboarding/training program supported by continuous professional development throughout the program.

Our new grad program is competitive, hosting three 2 week rotational opportunities. After completion, you will be placed full time into an area of suitability giving you an opportunity to build in-depth skills.

What will you do:

The duties of the role include performing a variety of analytical and administrative tasks as assigned. These assignments will vary widely from day to day and may include developing presentation materials using MS PowerPoint and MS Excel, fielding client phone inquiries and providing other client contact support as necessary.

Qualifications:

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can work well in a team-based environment.

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master's degree program graduating in December 2025 or Spring 2026;
• Strong academic record and extracurricular achievement;
• Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of financial markets;
• General knowledge of financial strategy / accounting / economic / capital management principles;
• Excellent research and analytical skills, able to collect, analyze and interpret data;
• Experience in numerical and data analysis;
• Detail and results orientated;
• Strong interpersonal skills used within a demanding team environment;
• Demonstrated proactivity, resiliency, positive attitude and high motivation;
• Ability to attentively review, assess and provide detailed information daily on multiple projects in an organized manner;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Strong work ethic and a high level of professional integrity.

Technical Skills:

• Excellent data manipulation/Excel/spreadsheet skills including VBA
• Experience accessing data streams, such as Bloomberg
• Database experience helpful (SQL, Oracle)
• Coding, programming is always an asset!

Please note the salary for this specific position is $95,000 CAD.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
