Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Phillip Capital Inc., located in Chicago, is dually registered with the SEC/FINRA as a self-clearing Broker Dealer and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a registered Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) serving the financial community with customized clearing, custody and global market access solutions.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in clearing, settlement, and custody of securities and options in a self-clearing capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who possesses a deep understanding of clearing and settlement and would enjoy working with a growing securities operations team to help drive the company forward.

What You Will Do

  • Support the expansion of securities and options execution, clearing, and settlement services through technology-enabled solutions, with a focus on straight-through processing, automated reconciliations, and scalable frameworks.
  • Execute daily clearing and custody operations, including trade settlement, pledging, options exercise and assignment, expiration processing, corporate actions, and position transfers.
  • Apply subject-matter expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve securities and options trade settlement breaks in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and recordkeeping standards under SEC and FINRA guidelines.
  • Assist with internal reviews and periodic regulatory and external audit examinations.
  • Develop, enhance, and document operational processes related to new products, workflows, and system enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within a self-clearing broker-dealer, with a strong focus on securities and options.
  • Solid understanding of core securities industry infrastructure, including DTCC, NSCC, and OCC.
  • Demonstrated analytical capability with the ability to identify, assess, and remediate process or system inefficiencies.
  • Strong working knowledge of SEC and FINRA rules and regulatory requirements.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a consistently low error rate.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, Power Automate, or other low-code/no-code solutions is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, effective time management, and strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Unwavering integrity, coupled with the ability to acknowledge errors and continuously improve.
  • Series 7 and/or Series 24 registration preferred, or willingness to obtain.
