ABOUT FUTURE WORKS

Future Works is a US-focused, AI-native professional services firm building operational AI and data systems. Our foundation beliefs are simple: optimization lowers need for resources, which increases sustainability and resilience. We are a team of "Time Benders" on a mission to collapse timelines to operational transformation of high footprint companies in energy, real estate, data and beyond. Together, we master velocity.

We achieve our mission by building flawless, AI-powered systems. Our technology is already far more advanced than that of boutique services firms, but we are only getting started and the road from here leads to becoming world's best Service-as-Software company. Regardless of the specific role, our ideal candidate will always have a keen interest in building symbiotic human-AI systems both individually and for teams; high energy, high agency and a certain passion for bending time.

THE ROLE

As the Business Analyst, you will act as the critical bridge between the client's operational stakeholders and our technical delivery pod. You will be responsible for leading requirements gathering, mapping current-state logistics processes, and documenting the testable hypotheses that drive our AI-assisted simulations. Working closely with Supply Chain Subject Matter Experts, Data Engineers, and Solutions Architects, you will ensure that the future-state decision logic we build is operationally viable, financially sound, and aligned with strict regulatory constraints.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Current-State Process Mapping: Lead workshops with client stakeholders to map existing allocation and routing logic (e.g., origin-to-node-to-customer flows) and identify the root causes of premium freight leakage and mode-mix misalignment.
  • Hypothesis Design: Decompose historical shipment data alongside SMEs to formulate specific, testable hypotheses (e.g., “Wrong-node allocation drives 30–40% of premium freight”).
  • Future-State Logic Definition: Collaborate with operations teams to define the "right allocation" rules, mode selection logic, exception thresholds, and escalation gating rules for the new decision engine.
  • Financial & KPI Baselining: Work with Finance and Operations to establish the CFO-approved baseline metrics (e.g., Air Usage %, Transport Mix, Node Dwell Time) and track realized ROI during live pilot experiments.
  • Technical Alignment: Translate complex business rules and MedTech compliance constraints into clear technical requirements for the Data Engineering and Full Stack teams to encode into the simulation models.
  • Validation & Feedback Loops: Conduct weekly operational reviews during the live pilot phase, gathering feedback from planners to iteratively refine model outputs and track avoided escalations.
  • Transition & Change Management: Author the updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), facilitate training for the broader planner and control tower teams, and help compile the final Value Realization Report.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Operations Consultant, ideally with deep exposure to supply chain, logistics, fulfillment, or ERP transformations.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Proven ability to lead complex process-mapping workshops, extract nuanced business logic from Subject Matter Experts, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong capability to decompose operational data, identify performance drivers, and establish clear, mathematically sound financial baselines and ROI models.
  • Hypothesis-Driven Problem Solving: Experience working in iterative, sprint-based environments where solutions are built through testing and validating specific business hypotheses.
  • Documentation & Translation: Exceptional skill in translating operational pain points and constraints into structured technical requirements for engineering teams, as well as writing clear SOPs for end-users.
  • Stakeholder Management: High emotional intelligence and the ability to comfortably interact with both executive sponsors (e.g., CFOs, Supply Chain Directors) and daily operational users (e.g., Logistics Planners).
  • AI/Tech Fluency: While you don't need to be a programmer, you must have a strong conceptual understanding of how predictive modelling, data ingestion, and decision-assist engines integrate into operational workflows.
