Product Owner / Business Analyst – Merchant Pricing Modernisation
Our client in the fintech/payments sector is delivering a major transformation programme, modernising legacy systems into a cloud‑native, event‑driven, microservices-based architecture on AWS. Merchant pricing is one of the most complex and critical domains within this programme.
They are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Product Owner to drive analysis, support solution design, and guide delivery as merchant pricing capabilities migrate from legacy platforms to a modern architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Discovery & Analysis
- Gather, analyse, and document business and system requirements
- Decompose complex pricing rules and structures into user stories
- Analyse legacy platform functionality (retain / simplify / retire)
- Conduct gap analysis and research to support decision‑making
- Capture regulatory, operational, and regional considerations
Requirements & Solution Shaping
- Maintain clear, traceable requirements throughout delivery
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams on solution options
- Contribute to defining target‑state capabilities, including integration points
- Ensure alignment with wider strategic and architectural objectives
Delivery Support
- Support backlog refinement and clarify requirements for engineering teams
- Assist with sequencing, risk identification, and dependency analysis
- Own acceptance scenarios and support testing activities
- Provide ongoing analytical support as requirements evolve
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a key link between business, product, technology, and operations
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Engage regional teams to ensure global requirements are captured
Must‑Have Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or in IT project delivery
- Experience in payments, banking, fintech, or high‑availability transaction processing
- Strong business analysis fundamentals (requirements gathering, process mapping, UAT support)
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, or similar)
- Ability to work with data models, APIs, and event‑driven concepts (non‑technical understanding acceptable)
- Proven experience supporting platform modernisation or migration initiatives
- Strong documentation, analysis, and communication skills
This opportunity is a 12-month contract, onsite in Dublin 2, paying €120,00 per annum pro rata OR €600 per day.
