Business & Data Analyst

Overview

We are seeking a Business/Data Analyst for a hybrid role that combines responsibilities of a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, and Scrum Master. This position will serve as a point of contact for business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate data requirements for the database team. The ideal candidate will be a senior-level resource with strong communication skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and business teams to drive projects and suggest process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between business units and the database team to define and explain data requirements.
• Gather and document business requirements, creating user stories and BRDs.
• Perform data mapping from source to target and understand data flow through various integration points like APIs.
• Conduct data analysis using advanced SQL queries for extraction and validation.
• Communicate findings and insights to both IT and business stakeholders.
• Potentially take on Scrum Master or Project Manager duties within an Agile environment.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute value beyond daily tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, querying, and validation.
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to analyze datasets and validate data integrity.
• Experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering and creating documentation such as BRDs and functional specifications.
• Analytical skills in Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Understanding of API integrations and data formats like JSON and XML for data mapping purposes.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and business needs to technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or prior experience acting as a Scrum Master.
• Previous experience in a Project Manager role.
• Familiarity with Snowflake.
