Position Summary
The position of Business Intelligence Analyst performs analysis and provides financial and other reporting through dashboards and static reporting as needed by the various departments within the organization to draw conclusions and make recommendations to support decision making and provide additional insight. Maintain exceptional service standards set by the organization.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- BS Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Economic, General Business or equivalent.
- Minimum of (3) three years of experience in business analysis or related functions or (3) three years of SDCCU experience to include business analysis or related functions. Experience in financial analysis desired but not required.
- Advanced Excel and SQL, software skills required.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate data visualization software skills.
- Strong process improvement, critical thinking, and analysis skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to recognize patterns and outliers.
- Ability to understand logical connections between ideas and solve problems systematically.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Creation of dashboards in reporting which requires creativity, discretion and independent judgment to determine the best solution to meet the needs of the internal customers.
- Collaborate with business owners to understand their needs and make recommendations as to the best way to use tools and analysis to visually display metrics and data to support decision making and provide additional insight.
- Collaborate with database administrators on the technical side of the dashboard implementation in order to complete the implementation to the business owner.
- Collaborate with the database administrators to manage the technical aspects of Tableau and the data warehouse as needed.
- Develop, maintain and follow standard processes surrounding the design and implementation of dashboards.
- Complete complex ad-hoc reports and data models. Data will be obtained through the programming of SQL queries.
- Assist with project analyses by designing analytical and modeling methods to evaluate performance following implementation.
- Assist in the fulfillment of complex and long term projects from planning through implementation, as requested.
- Recognize opportunities to automate processes for optimization and increased efficiency.
- Assist other departments within the organization with process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and update all internal procedure documentation related to assigned areas of responsibility. Provide recommendations on process improvements and quality controls.
