BI & DATA ARCHITECT (ASSESSMENT + IMPLEMENTATION)

Location: New York (Brooklyn preferred) / Client-Facing (at least 3 days onsite)

Client: Strategy Stack/ E-commerce Retail Domain

Duration: Until Mar 2029

Tentative Start Date: 4th May 2026

Role Summary

We are seeking a BI & Data Architect to lead data, analytics, and BI transformation initiatives for retail and eCommerce clients. This role will lead BI tool assessments, define data and reporting strategy, design scalable architectures, and drive end-to-end implementations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead BI tool assessments across ETL, Data Warehouse, and BI tools

Review current architecture and identify gaps

Define evaluation criteria and scoring models

Evaluate integration with Shopify, NetSuite, and POS systems

Design end-to-end BI architecture (ETL, DWH, Semantic Layer, Reporting)

Lead stakeholder workshops and KPI alignment

Drive implementation of BI solutions

Present recommendations to IT and business leadership

Required Experience

10–15+ years in BI / Data Architecture / Data Engineering

Experience in tool evaluation and platform selection

Retail / eCommerce experience preferred

Experience with Shopify, NetSuite, POS systems is a plus

Technical Skills

ETL / ELT tools (Alteryx, Informatica, Matillion, Fivetran)

Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse)

Data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling)

BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Consulting & Communication Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions

Client-facing communication skills

Ability to present to senior leadership

Success Criteria

Deliver clear tool recommendations

Design scalable architecture

Drive business and IT alignment

Enable smooth transition from assessment to implementation
