What You'll Be Doing:
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing repeatable reporting assets and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Design and develop BI reporting and data platforms.
- Create user-facing data visualization and reporting tools using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI dashboards, MicroStrategy, and Excel PivotTables.
- Engage in data retrieval and management efforts for Evolent Health.
- Align BI data assets with organizational strategic goals to support operational performance.
- Facilitate effective business analytics practices to improve decision making and operational efficiency.
- Assist in implementing technology improvements for continuous enhancement of our core BI platform.
- Conduct complex data analysis using advanced SQL and Excel to fulfill internal and external data requests for business continuity and insights.
- Collaborate with non-technical business users to gather requirements for reports and BI solutions.
- Provide maintenance support for existing BI applications and reports.
- Present project work and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with team members.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer within the Center of Excellence, you will be expected to meet the following performance criteria:

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in the BI/Data Warehouse domain, specializing in BI solutions and data analysis tasks using MSBI suites.
- Proficient in Power BI, including report building, dashboards, DAX, and Power Query (M).
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Direct Lake capabilities, and PowerAutomate.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Services, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Advanced SQL skills for data manipulation and performance tuning.
- Experience in implementing ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Able to work with both relational and cloud-based data sources.
- Healthcare industry experience with an understanding of authorizations, claims, eligibility, and patient clinical data is preferred.
- Knowledge of Python, Spark, or Databricks for data engineering or transformation tasks is preferred.
- Familiarity with DevOps/GitRepo for BI deployment is valued.
